Electrical upgrade

When I received an offer for two brand new 300Wp 24V Monochrystaline solarpannels with a corresponding 100/30 MPPT BlueSolar controller. Thus creating a 600Wp solar array, I decided that this year we would also upgrade our autonomy with the installation of this addition to the electrical lay-out of the truck.

With the purchase of this system it was also time to wrap my head around the final design and installation of the electrical components. From a working solution, to a finalised, serviceable and possible extendable or reconfigurable setup when switching to Lithium-polymer batteries for example.

The batteries will be firmly located in place using a combination of sturdy M8 threads and Flamco railings. Securely bolted to the military floor rails which runs in various positions in the bottom of the shelter floor.

Mounted on a set of grid style mounting platforms the various electrical components like fuses for all incoming power sources (MPPT solar charger, truck alternator Cytrix combi, Multiplus charger/inverter, shunt, battery balancer, Battery protect and relay switches wil take its place. From this central location in the unit all fused DC connections will be distributed predominantly right side rear and front. As the AC distribution is situated from the Multiplus AC fuse and breaker box on the left side of the unit. This clearly separates DC and AC in the complete unit.
